Meetings are occasionally re-scheduled due to holidays or other unforeseen events. When this happens, notice will be published and posted in advance. All are welcome to attend. Meeting Minutes can be reviewed on the website - click on "Government" above.
The compost site located at the north end of Wood Street is to be used by Backus City Residents only for grass clippings, leaves and branches. You need to purchase a key to gain access to the site. Keys are $5.00 and available at the clerk's office. Phone (218) 947-3221 to leave a message if you wish to purchase a key. Please, no trees, no trash and no other discarded items.
Please bring discarded appliances, furniture, mattresses, tires, scrap lumber and metal and other such items to Cass County Solid Waste south of town. For hours, fees and more information, call: 587-3500. Please do not leave these items at the Recycling Bins! Cass County provides these bins as a courtesy to city residents and if non-recyclable items continue to be left there, this service could be discontinued.
